From a hill in New York to Grandin's press.

Before dawn on a September morning in 1827, Emma Smith waits on a borrowed wagon at the foot of a hill. From there the story moves through the years of translating and printing, told by the people who were there: Emma, Lucy Mack Smith, Martin and Lucy Harris, Oliver Cowdery, the Whitmers, the men at Grandin's press, and the neighbors who doubted them. It follows the book to March 26, 1830, and into the hands of its first readers.
